Move of this Kind Had Been Expected for Past Few Months

The Star is in receipt of the following telegram from Mr. J. E. McCormack, manager of the National Townsite and Colonization Co., owning the sub-division known as South Wainwright. The wire was sent from Pembroke, Ont., after a meeting of the directors of the company and should prove of great interest to local people.

“At a meeting of the directors of our company held today, thirty thousand dollars was voted to improve South Wainwright. Twenty homes will be built, streets graded and sidewalks put down. The work of improving the property will start as sooon as possible.”

A move of this kind by this company has been forecasted for sometime past and the announcement brings little or no surprise locally. With a continuation of present weather conditions, the spring will not need to be awaited to make a start on the work of improving the property.
