Park Commissioner Douglas Sends 1000 Spruce Trees For Wainwright’s Streets

————

Coun. Logan, acting chairman of the village council this week received a letter from Mr. Douglas, Dominion Park Commissioner which pleased him and which contained news which will be pleasing to the citizens at large.

Mr. Douglas stated that he was sending a large number of spruce trees here, to be planted along the road leading from the city to the "Buffalo Park," and he said that at the same time he would be glad to send along a thousand of the same class of trees for the city if the council cared to have them.

The offer was accepted with alacrity, Coun. Logan telegraphing to Mr. Douglas that the city would accept the trees, and thanking him for his offer.

E. Ellis, superintendent of the "Buffalo Park," left on Monday for the west to superintend the loading of the trees which The Star understands will be shipped from Wabamun Lake, on the G. T. P.

The trees will be from three to four feet high, and will contribute greatly to the beautifying of Wainwright’s streets.
