Resume Round-Up

————

Remainder of Pablo Herd of Buffalo will be Shipped to Wainwright Park Shortly

————

The round-up of the remainder of the Pablo buffalo herd, purchased by Canada, and which will be placed in the park here, was resumed this week on the Flathead reservation in Montana by Michel Pablo and his twelve riders. Last spring, after two weeks were spent in a vain effort to corral the monarchs of the plains, Missoula dispatches announced that the last shipment had been made to Canada and that the remainder of the herd would be presented to the United States by the Canadian government. This was erroneous. The Canadian government pays for only those animals delivered across the line in sound condition.

G. W. Beckwith, a merchant from St. Ignatius, in Helena, states that fully 150 animals remain, on the reservation. These are the wildest brutes of the herd. They escaped the four previous round-ups and it will take almost superhuman efforts to put them in the cars at Ravalli, the shipping point.
