The Work Force The two previous pages list the various offices and departments within the Camp’s work force. Positions are held by both military and civilian personnel averaging approximately 400 permanent staff which is augmented by temporary and part-time positions during major exercises. Most of the departments stated are found in all military centers in Canada and it is not the intention of this book to describe in detail each section’s policy and mandate. By merely reviewing the directory, one can appreciate the fact that each listing is an integral part of the Camp’s operation, maintenance, and entertainment. The work force may be best described by the people who have been part of it. The following pages are a collection of memories and information supplied by military and civilian personnel of Camp Wainwright, presently or in the past. The community of Denwood has always been very active in sports and recreational events, obviously too many to mention the winners or competion results for each and every activity. Also the social functions at the messes have received rave reviews from most in attendance. The Camp has often been paid the compliment, “they sure know how to throw a party!” _________image_________ Camp Supply Staff, sometime in the 1970’s (photo submitted by Kay Ford)
